Hello! My name is Caitlyn Freshour and I am a senior at Concordia University.

This May I will be graduating with my BSN (Bachelors of Science in Nursing). I am so excited to graduate and pursue my passion in this field. I hope to become a travel nurse with a focus in pediatric care in the states and abroad.

I am the youngest of five siblings and currently work as a babysitter and a tutor at the school. Every other Thursday I volunteer at the Luke 52 Project Clinic in Southwest Detroit. This is a free clinic that offers pre- and post-natal care to women in need. It was through Concordia that I was able to get connected with this amazing service.

This summer I traveled to Uganda to participate in a study abroad program with some of my fellow nursing peers. We were able to visit a children’s hospital, boarding school, refugee camp, and a teenage pregnancy crisis center. A large chunk of our time was spent educating people from local towns and villages about women’s hygiene, nutrition, and first aid. This experience was one that changed me for the better. I would not have been able to attend had it not been for donors like you.

I am so thankful for Concordia University and the donors who have made my time here possible.

Through Concordia I have had the opportunity to make new friends, learn from excellent professors, and participate in making lifelong memories.

Thank you for your gift and selflessness!
