Concordia University Ann Arbor (CUAA) will host renowned theologian, author and Christian creation scholar, Rev. Dr. Charles Arand, for a free community discussion about the environment and our responsibility to care for it.

“In Awesome Wonder – Finding Our Place within God’s Creation,” will take place on Wednesday, October 28 at 7:00PM in the Chapel of the Holy Trinity on the campus of Concordia University.

Climate change, drought, and extinction are just a few of the great fears and challenges that we face as stewards of God’s creation and as humans who live on this planet. What is our responsibility to the environment?  What can we do to leave the planet better than we found it? When was the last time we truly appreciated the beauty of a sunset or the wonder of the moon? In Awesome Wonder will be a forum for Christians to discuss the changing environmental world and their part in preserving the planet for future generations.

Rev. Dr. Charles Arand is the Eugene E. and Nell S. Fincke Graduate Professor of Theology at Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, MO where he has served since 1989. He also currently serves as the Dean of Theological Research and Publications as well as the Director of the Center for the Care of Creation. He has published several books and over fifty articles on topics related to the Lutheran Confessions and the theology of creation.

Guests will have the opportunity to ask questions and engage in the reflection and discussion of Christians and creation at this 90 minute forum.
