As high school musicians and singers are converging on campus, the weekend promises not only beautiful music but also the formation of lasting connections and memories. The concert tomorrow will take center stage, serving as the highlight and exemplifying the transformative power of music through a celebration of harmonious collaboration.

Honor Band Day

Led by the skilled baton of Dr. William Perrine, the Concordia University Wind Ensemble welcomes talented high school band students to join their ranks for a weekend of musical exploration.
The weekend commenced at 8:30 a.m. today, with an alternative start time at 3:30 p.m. for those joining after local school hours.

The Honor Band Day provides students with the opportunity to learn, practice, and perform alongside college students enrolled in the Wind Ensemble. Additionally, it provides high school students with the opportunity to engage in music-making within the setting of a small private liberal arts university.

Honor Choir Day

Simultaneously, the Concordia University Choir, directed by Dr. John Boonenberg, is hosting its own Honor Choir Day. The festivities began at 8:30 a.m. today, offering a second starting option at 3:30 p.m. for participants joining after the conclusion of local school hours.

Participating high school choir students will have the invaluable opportunity to learn from the college students in the Concordia Choir as they share the stage, creating a beautiful synergy of voices. Furthermore, it allows high school students to gain hands-on experience in creating music within the unique environment of a small private liberal arts university.
