Senior Isabelle Arnold shares her experience during the Theatrical Dancing Master Class led by Logan Richardson and Beth Strom from Concordia’s Dance team.
On Wednesday, September 18 , the theatre department got to take a break from rehearsals and take a master class designed for musical theatre. As a dancer myself, I was overjoyed at the opportunity to take a class on something I loved to do.
About the Class
To begin the class, Logan had us warm up with some jumping jacks and running to get our heartbeats up. Then, we did some exercises across the floor to help with jazz technique. We danced to “What’d I Miss” from Hamilton, which if you have never listened to it before I highly recommend it! It is a fun, upbeat song that made for a fun dance combination. The combination was only about seven eight counts long, but it was filled with fast footwork, turns, and leaps! Taking this class was a great way to bond with my castmates. We all had such a great time and love CUAA Theatre for giving us the best opportunities to grow!
