As a prospective student, visiting campus tells you more about the colleges and universities you are interested in than anything else.
I remember my Concordia visit like it was yesterday. I had spent my entire spring break visiting schools all around the country and Concordia University Ann Arbor was the last stop on the agenda. I was equal parts nerves and excitement that entire week.
My overall sense of comfort was different here than it had been anywhere else. It sounds funny, but I even remember how it was a cloudy on every other visit that week, but when we were on the CUAA campus tour with the student ambassador, the sun came out. Being on campus, hearing stories from students, and asking questions to faculty and staff helped me to decide that Concordia was where I wanted to be.

The CUAA student ambassadors give tours to perspective students daily and answer many questions for potential students. We asked them what some of their most common questions are so that you can be in-the-know before you even get to campus for your tour!
Q: Can first year students have a car on campus?
A: Yes! There is a fee for all student cars on campus, and campus safety will help you register your vehicle when you arrive on campus for move-in day. Commuter students will also need to register their vehicle during the first week of classes each semester.
Q: Is it easy to balance busy schedules with class work?
A: Yes, professors are understanding and willing to work with students that communicate their travel schedules ahead of time. It is common for students involved in music or athletic programs have to miss classes.
Q: Is chapel required?
A: No, but it is highly encouraged! Daily Chapel is offered every week day at 10:30 a.m. lasting about 20 minutes with various weekly themes and worship styles. No classes are in session at that time.
Q: Resident hall rules?
A: We get most commonly asked about the visitation rules: The same gender can stay the night up to 3 nights maximum in a row, and opposite gender is asked to leave the hall by 1 a.m. on a week day and 2 a.m. on weekends. Coffee makers, microwaves, and mini fridges are allowed in rooms.
Q: Do I need to check in with my resident assistant when I leave campus?
A: No, you are treated as an adult on campus. You are free to come and go.
Q: Can you swim off the dock?
A: We wish! No for the sake of safety and liability, but Gallup Park offers a swimming section about half a mile down the road.
Q: Can you rearrange the rooms?
A: Yes! There are so many different ways to make your room exactly the way you want it. Get creative, and check out some of your friends’ rooms for inspiration.
Q: Are there worship opportunities on campus?
A: Along with Daily Chapel, there are several other worship events throughout the week including Monday morning Matins, Tuesday night worship, Wednesday evening prayer, and Friday Office of None.
Q: Do students pay to go to athletic events on campus?
A: Nope, students can attend athletic events on campus for free, including the Homecoming game. Go Cards!
