Regarding the future of the event, following the 2025 tournament, hosted by CUAA.

Dear Concordians:

I am writing to communicate a significant decision regarding our involvement in the Concordia Invitational Tournament (CIT). After the 2025 CIT event, slated to be held at our Ann Arbor campus, CUWAA will discontinue participation in this tournament to pursue new traditions that better serve our athletic programs and engage our student body.

We are establishing a cross-campus committee to propose new, uncommon experiences that will celebrate our Cardinals and Falcons and create fond memories that our alumni recognize as highlights from their time on campus. I’ll share more details about this committee and their work early next year.

We recognize that this news may disappoint many. CIT has held a special place as a beloved Concordia tradition for over 70 years. We cherish our relationship with our sister schools and will continue supporting initiatives and collaboration opportunities going forward.

Thank you for your ongoing support.

Grace and peace in this Advent season,

Dr. Erik Ankerberg
President, Concordia University Wisconsin & Ann Arbor

PS: The upcoming CIT tournament hosted at CUW will go as planned. Please make every effort to support our Falcons and Cardinals.
