High school students are invited to a two-day, one-night summer music camp hosted by the Kreft Arts Program at Concordia University Ann Arbor (CUAA).

High School Summer Sing is offered to students interested in an enriching singing experience. Attendees will connect with other high school singers while learning excellent choral music in a relaxed, friendly environment.

Summer Sing begins on Sunday, June 26 at 3:00 p.m. and concludes in the afternoon on Monday, June 27, 2016.

“Our campus is such a beautiful, tranquil place in the summer,” said Dr. Brian Altevogt, director of choirs at CUAA. “It is a wonderful time to work with guest students, to inspire them in their musical growth, and to encourage them to enjoy fellowship with the other high school students during a more relaxed time of year.”

Dr. Altevogt will be leading the rehearsals and activities throughout the camp. Altevogt graduated with a BM in Music Education at the University of Michigan, received his MM in Choral Conducting from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and DMA at the University of Michigan in Choral Conducting.

Those in attendance will perform together in a final concert at the end of the Summer Sing, demonstrating what they have learned in the choral rehearsals throughout the last two days. In addition to rehearsals and a performance, campers will eat in the Cardinal Café and stay overnight in the residence halls. Click here for a detailed Summer Sing schedule.

The music department at CUAA is an ancillary program of the Kreft Arts Program. The Kreft Arts Program strives to inspire the artistic, intellectual, and creative experiences of both CUAA students and the greater Ann Arbor community.
