A day to honor, a lifetime to give thanks.
Each year on Veterans Day, our nation pauses to give thanks—to honor the men and women who have faithfully served in the U.S. Armed Forces. At CUAA, gratitude goes beyond a single day. It’s something we live out daily through prayer, service and genuine connection within our Christ-centered community.
Through faith and fellowship

The Concordia family includes students, faculty, staff and alumni who have served our country with courage and humility. Their leadership, perseverance and faith inspire us all. Whether it’s through mentoring others, serving in campus ministries or offering encouragement to classmates, our veterans embody Concordia’s mission to develop students for lives of service to Christ in the Church and the world.
Their stories remind us that serving others—in or out of uniform—is a reflection of Christ’s love in action.
Care packages and campus appreciation
This year, CUAA is expressing gratitude in tangible ways. The Veterans Services Office has prepared personalized care packages for each of our student veterans. Those who are on campus will receive their packages on Tuesday, while packages will be mailed to off-campus students—including one Doctor of Physical Therapy student who is currently deployed.
In addition, cards have been placed near the chapel, where students, faculty and staff are invited to write thank-you notes—either to specific veterans or to any veteran in general. These handwritten messages will be included in each care package as a personal reminder of Concordia’s collective appreciation and prayerful support.
As part of CUAA’s annual tradition, the campus is decorated with stars and flags to honor veterans and remind everyone of the many blessings we enjoy because of their service. Even though the snow has dimmed the display this week, the spirit of gratitude still shines brightly.
Chapel recognition and prayer
Tomorrow, Nov. 12, Pastor Sikora will offer a special message at the close of chapel to honor and thank veterans. This moment of reflection and prayer is a meaningful way for the Concordia community to unite in gratitude—giving thanks to God for those who have served and continue to serve.
A Concordia thank-you

To all veterans in the CUAA family—students, alumni, faculty and staff—thank you. Your courage, faith and dedication inspire us to live with purpose and compassion.
As we celebrate Veterans Day, may we remember that gratitude in action is one of the truest forms of worship. We give thanks to God for you—and for the ways your service continues to shape our community and our world.
