Concordia University’s Wind Ensemble will host its annual Honor Band Days Friday and Saturday, February 9-10, in the Kreft Center on the university’s main campus, 4090 Geddes Road.
The two-day music workshop will culminate with a 4 p.m. concert on Saturday for parents and friends. “We’ve structured this event so talented, high school band students have an opportunity to learn and perform alongside college students in the Wind Ensemble,” noted Dr. William Perrine, ensemble director.
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. Friday, with an alternate registration at 3:30 p.m. following the conclusion of public school classes. The registration fee is $25, including housing, meals and a T-shirt. Housing is available Friday night for students traveling more than 30 miles.
High school seniors attending Honor Band Days additionally can schedule an audition for a four-year, renewable CUAA Music Scholarship. More information on those scholarships can be found at www.cuaa.edu/scholarships. To register for the workshop or for further details, please contact Dr. Perrine.
