All three of CUAA’s large music ensembles have been awarded finalist status in the 2024 American Prize competition.

CUAA music ensembles have received recognition from the American Prize in past years, but this is the first time all three ensembles have been awarded finalist status. In 2023, the Concordia Choir was a finalist and the Concordia Orchestra received second place in the smaller program division. In 2021 the Wind Ensemble received third place in the smaller program division.

These honors round out a tremendously successful year for the CUAA music department. This includes our largest ever enrollments in each of our primary musical ensembles; an invited performance to the 2024 Washington D.C. International Music Festival at Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington D.C., and our third annual Concordia at Hill Concert in April.
