A degree in public service, allows you to impact your community. Graduates can pursue careers in law enforcement, government, or non-profit agencies. This work has never been more important than today!

Reason 1: You can choose from two concentrations

First of all, you have choices within the public service degree. Our program allows students to choose between a Management in Criminal Justice and Leadership concentration. Both paths have combined core courses in topics on community relations, stress management, and diversity.

After that, students take courses within their chosen path. The leadership path focuses on skills needed to build the knowledge needed to lead a public service agency. The criminal justice path targets skills needed to lead justice-related agencies. Above all, both options will allow students to impact areas they work.

Reason 2: Supports work-life balance

Secondly, we offer flexible options to further your education while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Students have the option to choose between in-person and online classes or a mixture of both. If you need to take a break along the way, you can hit pause until you are ready to start again.

Our accelerated program offers:

  • Virtual classes that meet one night a week
  • Fully online option
  • Courses are 6-8 weeks in length
  • Small class sizes
  • Minimal group work outside of class
  • Up to 84 transfer credits accepted

Reason 3: Ability to transfer credits

Students with an associate’s degree or previous college credits may be able to transfer up to 84 credits into the program. Additionally, we have articulation agreements with various colleges to help streamline your path to graduation. Feel free to request an unofficial evaluation of all of the credits you’ve taken to date.

Reason 4: Variety of student services offered

Concordia University offers services to our students for free. Many of our adult learners are not on campus, therefore, our services are virtually accessible. You are assigned to an Academic Advisor once in the program. Your advisor will answer questions, help with registration, and create a plan with you to complete your degree.
