Res Life is welcoming the first-ever Campus Ministry Resident Assistants this coming fall.

Campus Pastor Randy Duncan explains that the newly created positions exist to encourage and provide peer-to-peer spiritual care. Duncan was involved in the interviewing and selection of the inaugural hires.

“In many ways, these students will function as interns and assist with the spiritual care of fellow students, as well as leading and coordinating community groups, service opportunities, mission activities, and worship experiences under my supervision and in cooperation with the Office of Resident Life,” he said. “I look forward to working alongside these student leaders, helping them to stir up their gifts, empowering them to minister in their niche, and keeping them accountable to faithful service, all in the context of walking humbly with Jesus.”

What motivated you to apply to become a Campus Ministry RA?

I love to spread God’s word and the love that he offers through Christ.  I want to help anyone who I am able through their faith journey and guide and listen to them along the way.

What do your future residents need to know about you, particularly in your role as a CMRA?

I am always willing to listen to any problem you may have!  Whether that be about your faith or about how your classes are going or about how life is going in general, my ears are always open!

If you see me, you should ask me about…

I love music so I would love to talk about music.  In particular, ask me about Kanye West (my favorite artist of all time)!

What motivated you to apply to become a Campus Ministry RA?

I wanted to become a CMRA because I know what it’s like trying to be a Christian alone, unfortunately when we are alone, we miss out on some of the greatest blessings of being a part of a community. I wanted to do this job to create and foster a community of support and encouragement.

What do your future residents need to know about you, particularly in your role as a CMRA?

I’m here to help with whatever you might need. If you’re looking for places to connect, to get prayer and support, or you just need someone to listen, that is what I am here for.

If you see me, you should ask me about…

My favorite countries! I love international travel and I dream of working overseas someday.

I was very motivated to apply to become a Campus Ministry RA. I have always had a passion for reaching out to others and creating Christian relationships. I wanted others to feel comfortable here at Concordia University Ann Arbor.

What do your future residents need to know about you, particularly in your role as a CMRA?

Future residents need to know that I am very easy to talk to and am very open-minded. They can contact me anytime or offer suggestions of activities we can do with our residence hall.

If you see me, you should ask me about…

If you see me, you should ask me about my faith journey or surfing! I have also lived around the world and have experienced many cultures. I have a lot to share with many stories.
