The Concordia University Ann Arbor (CUAA) Psychology and Art Departments present Faces of Depression, an exhibition of creative and visual expression in observance of National Depression Awareness Month.
The Concordia University Ann Arbor (CUAA) Psychology and Art Departments present Faces of Depression, an exhibition of creative and visual expression in observance of National Depression Awareness Month.
CUAA students have illustrated their impressions of depression with artwork specially created for this exhibit including painting, drawing, photography, graphic design, and sculpture. Each student piece has a posted statement written to explain the piece’s inspiration.
“The purpose of the event is to raise awareness about depression and reduce the stigma that surrounds depression on our campus and in our community,” said Dr. Christopher C. Stark, Assistant Professor of Psychology at CUAA. “Concordia students have participated in creating the artwork, curating the exhibit, and serving as docents during the event.”
The artists’ reception will be held on Friday, October 14 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Kreft Gallery on the campus of Concordia University Ann Arbor. The exhibit will run from Tuesday, October 11 through Sunday, October 16. Faces of Depression is a free exhibit and open to the public.
