Your cumulative annual gift of $1,000 or more to the Concordia Fund will help build a firm foundation for the university’s mission.

The strength of a building lies in its foundation. The primary purpose of a foundation is to bear the structure above it and keep it standing, but its implications extend beyond mere structural support.

An apt comparison can be drawn between Christ and His Church. The Apostle Paul wrote as much to the people of Ephesus: “…you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people, members of his household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone” (Ephesians 2:19-22).

“…with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone.”

Ephesians 2:19-22

Introducing the Concordia Cornerstone Society

Inspired by these metaphors, Concordia’s Office of Advancement has launched the Concordia Cornerstone Society. To become a member of the society, donors must give a cumulative gift of $1,000 or more on a yearly basis to the Concordia Fund.

Why the Concordia Fund?

The Concordia Fund is the university’s greatest giving need.

Tuition only covers a portion of the actual cost to educate each students. The Concordia Fund was established to offset the remaining expenses, allowing the university to offer Concordia students the increased quality and experience they deserve, without placing a greater financial burden on them. Within the past year, the Concordia Fund has helped with:

  • Student scholarships
  • Classroom and laboratory technology updates
  • Research
  • Facility upgrades
  • Student/faculty retention and recruitment
