Jazz at the Manor will feature a performance by virtuoso drummer, composer and arranger Sean Dobbins on Friday, September 22.

This free outdoor concert by one of the most sought after jazz musicians in southeast Michigan begins at 7:30 p.m. on the university’s main campus, 4090 Geddes Road.

Dobbins, a winner of the “Woody Herman Jazz Award,” which honors outstanding musicianship, will lead a group of stellar, local musicians in a 90-minute concert on the historic Earhart Manor south lawn. Dobbins has amassed an impressive list of playing companions, having toured and recorded over the years with notable jazz musicians. His sound can best be described as hard-driving, solid rhythm. A product of the Ann Arbor Public Schools, Dobbins is the former director of that school system’s summer jazz program.
