Dear Concordia faculty, staff, and students,

The welfare and safety of our community during this time is our primary concern.

Under the Clery Act, which requires the University to share certain information with the community, we are writing to share that a member of the University community has tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). The individual who tested positive is currently at home in self-quarantine and has received medical care.

Concordia University administrators will continue to be in communication with the Washtenaw County Health Department.

As part of our pandemic protocol, Concordia University locks residence hall rooms upon student move out. Rooms remain locked until housekeeping conducts a thorough cleaning and sterilization of each room.

For any additional important or significant updates to available information, we will send notifications to our community via email. If you have questions, please email the University at covid19@cuaa.edu. You can also check our website, www.cuaa.edu/covid19 for continuous updates and helpful information.

  • How can I help protect myself?
Preventative steps recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention can be found at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-nCoV/index.html
  • What if I suspect I have coronavirus?
If you think you may have been exposed to coronavirus and have these flu-like symptoms (fever, shortness of breath or a cough), please call ahead before visiting a doctor’s office or emergency department. This will enable your care providers to determine the best way for you to receive care.
  • Faculty and staff with symptoms: Please contact your medical provider.

Be steadfast in prayer for our Concordia community, for health and safety as together we face these challenges.

God’s peace,

Ryan
