Mystery and Enigma, the annual Kreft Juried Art Exhibition, will open to the public Tuesday, March 21, continuing through April 13. An artist reception will be held Friday, March 31 from 7-9 p.m., with juror awards presented that evening in the gallery located on the Concordia University campus, 4090 Geddes Road.
This year, 46 artists entered the competition, submitting a total of 87 works for the juror to consider. Due to space limitations in the newly-renovated gallery space, as well as the unusually large number of big pieces, the work of 16 artists was selected. Twenty six pieces will be on display, according to Dr. Mark S. Looker, longtime Kreft Center for the Arts director and professor of English at CUAA.
Other upcoming events in the center include: The Concordia Wind Ensemble, Tuesday, March 7, Kreft Center Black Box Theatre, 8 p.m. and The Concordia University Choir, Sunday, March 26, Chapel of the Holy Trinity, 4 p.m. Both of those concerts are FREE.
