As an academic institution, Concordia University Ann Arbor is constantly buzzing throughout fall, winter, and spring. But what about summer?
Ann Arbor’s gorgeous summer season is no exception for constant activities and excitement on CUAA’s campus. We’ve put together seven summer highlights that students, families, and community members can enjoy throughout the weeks to come.
Some events are reoccurring and other happen just once a season. Grab your calendars and write these dates down as you do your summer 2019 planning!
2019 Cardinal Golf Classic & Hall of Fame Gala
May 31—June 1
The ultimate summer kick-off, hosted by CUAA’s athletic department, blends fellowship, fun, and fundraising all for the benefit of Concordia student athletes. Friday’s Cardinal Golf Classic, held at Ann Arbor’s Stonebridge Golf Club, includes 18 holes of golf, food and drink, and prizes and giveaways throughout the day. The third annual Hall of Fame Gala, held in CUAA’s beautiful Earhart Manor Tent, is a formal event that celebrates the 2019 athletic hall of fame inductees with a three course meal, drinks, live and silent auctions, a keynote speaker and more. River Sounds in the Key of A²
June 8, 8 p.m.
This is an event you DO NOT want to miss. For the first time ever, Concordia is hosting the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra for an outdoor summer concert on CUAA’s riverside patio along the banks of the Huron River. The event is completely free and open to the public, just bring your lawn chairs and blankets for seating! If you want to come early, the A²SO will host an Instrument Petting Zoo for children and families to try out the instruments. Click here for more details!
Cardinal sports camps
May—July
This summer, the Cardinal camps range from among six different sports for grade levels 2nd-12th. Cardinal sports campus are designed to help attendees develop skills, build character, and learn teamwork all within a Christian environment. AFC Ann Arbor home matches
May—July
Have you heard? CUAA’s Cardinal Stadium is the new home field for Ann Arbor’s semi-pro soccer team! The club recently announced the addition of a women’s team for the 2019 season, and both the men’s and women’s teams will play their home matches at Concordia University Ann Arbor throughout the summer. Summer Bible Studies
June—July, Wednesdays at 12 p.m.
Around campus this summer? Be sure to join for Summer Bible Studies led by CUAA faculty and staff on Wednesdays at noon throughout the months of June and July. The outdoor Bible studies are a perfect reason to enjoy lunch with fellow Concordians and study Scripture together! Follow CUAA or Campus Pastor Randy Duncan on Twitter for updates.
Summer Orientation
June 17, 21, 24, 28 & July 26
Specifically for CUAA’s new students, Concordia will host a round of summer orientation sessions for students to get equipped for the fall 2019 semester. Registering for classes, meeting with financial aid, and getting to know fellow classmates will all be a part of the orientation. New Cardinals, we can’t wait to have you on campus! Summer Institute Workshops
July 29—August 8
This summer, the school of education will host the 5th annual Summer Institute Workshops, a series of one or two-day workshops designed for current teachers to earn their State Continuing Education Clock Hours (SCECHs) covering engaging topics in the field of education. This year’s workshops will include expertise on important topics like restorative practices, classroom management, healing trauma, and more! Share this page with a fellow teacher.
