Over 100 participants will come together to perform the 42nd annual Boar's Head Festival in Concordia University Ann Arbor's Chapel of the Holy Trinity, 4090 Geddes Road, December 6-8.
The moving spectacle, which started in 1978 thanks to the vision of professors Paul Foelber, John Sturmfels and Quentin Mario, enacts medieval Christmas traditions and the story of Christ’s birth.
A treasured memory for many people, it remains a vibrant and living tradition as it continues to profess the wonder of the Christmas miracle. Evening performances are at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, with a late afternoon matinee set for 4 p.m. Sunday.

“The Boar’s Head Festival is such a unique experience,” noted sustaining director Angela Lai, who was involved in the production in several capacities for six years under the tutelage of the late Gerard Dzuiblinski. “What I personally enjoy is seeing how so many make it a family tradition to come back and participate year after year.”
While the cast is now finalized and rehearsals in swing, Lai shared they are always seeking adults to play lords and ladies. If you are interested, you can contact Lai at Angela.Lai@cuaa.edu.
Jonathon Neuendorf will be reprising his role as Good King Wenceslas this year. Dr. Neil Skov, an emeritus professor of science, hand-picked him for the role last year after playing it for 40 years.
Tickets, now available, are priced from $10-$16 and an be ordered by phone at 734-995-7537, or online at www.cuaa.edu/kreftarts.
