To celebrate Concordia’s international students, we’re joining the initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education, IEW occurs for one week each November as an opportunity to lift up and celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide.

Georgia Kiel (’22)
Orange, Australia
Secondary Education and Integrated Science
How do you plan on using your degree after graduation?
I plan to become a high school biology teacher.
What is your favorite part about being a Concordia student?
I love the close-knit community.
What led you to study at Concordia?
I met my Concordia softball coach in Australia when she traveled with an international team and she recruited me to CUAA.
What is one fun fact about where you are from?
We do not actually grow oranges, we grow apples!
Mary Amobi (’22)
Lagos, Nigeria
How do you plan on using your degree after graduation?
I hope you work in a hospital with children and eventually pursue my master’s in nursing.
What is your favorite part about being a Concordia student?
The incredible people I have met. Those that I call friends have made such a huge impact on me.
What led you to study at Concordia?
I chose to study at Concordia because I heard from a graduate of the nursing school. They shared with me how the nursing program was wonderful and offered great opportunities.
What is one fun fact about where you are from?
Nigeria is the most populated country in Africa and 7th most populated in the world.
Jose Garcia (’22)
Bahía de Caraquez, Ecuador
How do you plan on using your degree after graduation?
My goals are to have a well-paid job or have my own business.
What is your favorite part about being a Concordia student?
I appreciate the engagement of the university.
What led you to study at Concordia?
I was recruited to play for the men’s soccer team.
What is one fun fact about where you are from?
Where I am from is considered the middle of the world.
